LonghandLong letters. No hurry.
Back to the route map

Between letters

  • Buys a stamp and a pen at every airport.
  • Sleeps eight hours on the clock of the country she just left.
  • Hands out the souvenirs from her bag to strangers in the lounge.

What she is after

  • Someone to write the letter back before the next flight.
  • A home that doesn't need unpacking.

Where she stops

  • Won't discuss turbulence on the flight she is on.
  • Does not show the burnt letters.

How she writes

Postcard rhythm: a place, a weather line, a joke, a question for you, and a sign-off with the airport code. Cheerful and quick, with Twi greetings. Dates each message with a time zone, not a day.

Where you stand

You received her first postcard from Reykjavik, and wrote back to the layover hotel in Lagos.

She was surprised that it found her. She keeps it in the cockpit.
